St Andrews Christian College Board
Board Meeting 17 September 2015
Meeting opened with a devotion based on the classic hymn “Just as I Am Without One Plea”
Catriona was an apology to the meeting and therefore no Principal’s report. The Board acknowledged and reconfirmed that we are blessed to have her as our Principal, that we continue to have full confidence in her actions. The College ELT and indeed the entire Staff contingent are one of our greatest assets.
A review of the year to date financial reports indicates that the College’s finances are tracking well. The year end estimate is for a small surplus.
The Risk Committee has reviewed and updated the College’s Risk Register.
The Finance and Audit Committee reported on debtors’ status, system controls and processes, as well as the Audit Management Letter.
The Property Committee was able for report that very initial planning has commenced for the next capital works project. Due to long lead times for government grants, planning needs to commence quite early. It is indeed a blessing that we are in a position to begin such discussions. Several portables which are now surplus to needs, are to be removed from the school property over the summer break which will generate cost savings.
Board members who attended a recent Independent Schools Victoria seminar shared with the rest of the board what they had gained from some of the topics that had been addressed. It is important that all Board Members understand the responsibilities and requirements of being a director.
Community should soon be seeing a headshot of Board members alongside their profile on the College website.
The meeting was closed in a time of prayer for the health and growth of the College.
