1. St Andrews Christian College
A “Christ-centred” school that has a strong focus on academic performance.
The Wantirna South school achieved a median score of 31 and 10 per cent of study scores were 40 or above.
Principal Catriona Wansbrough said encouraging students to give back to the community, through volunteering programs with the Salvation Army, and trips to Cambodia and Vanuatu to support St Andrew’s sister schools, helped them build a strong sense of self.
“It’s about knowing who you are and being able to use your talents, whatever they may be, to be the best gardener, or teacher, or doctor, or prime minister – it’s enabling each student to explore the different skills and talents that they have and to blossom.”
