About Us

A God-Honouring College

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes...

Romans 1:16

Our vision at St Andrews is simple: to empower students to live purposeful lives for the glory of God.

For 40 years, our College has exemplified Christ-centredness and academic excellence. We believe that each child is uniquely known and loved by God, and each child has the potential to learn and excel.

That means every part of a child’s development matters. Students will experience a learning culture where they can grow curious minds, compassionate hearts and generous spirits.

Our highly qualified teaching staff support each child to discover their God-given gifts, and we partner with families to provide the best possible environment for students to flourish.

Our desire is to see every St Andrews student become a leader of tomorrow, distinguished by curiosity, courage and conviction. We’d love to partner in this with you.

Why Choose St Andrews?

St Andrews is a vibrant learning community where students are empowered to lead purpose-filled lives for the glory of God.

Over 40 years, we have gained a reputation as one of Australia’s best Christian colleges, characterised by academic excellence and a caring Christ-centred community.

Our passion is for students to graduate with a high-quality education and an eagerness to influence the world with curiosity, courage and conviction.

A God-honouring College

We know that education is never neutral - every school has a certain perspective on life.

Our approach to education is shaped by a distinctly Christian perspective. When a student joins our College, they join a welcoming community where biblical faith, truth and love are woven into everyday life.

Every student is created and loved by God, and that means our students’ unique needs are of primary concern in our College. Our staff are committed Christians who are dedicated to helping students cultivate their gifts and recognise their God-given purpose.

Students are offered opportunities to grow in wisdom, character and truth, and live out those values in their actions. Our desire is for our students to become locally and globally active citizens, impacting a broken world for Christ.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:5

Academic Excellence

We believe that every student is designed to be a creative and curious thinker, and every student has the potential to grow, achieve and excel.

Our College has a long-standing reputation for educational excellence. Our students are regularly recognised as outstanding achievers in Maths, Science and other disciplines, and our Naplan scores rank far above the government benchmarks.

But while we champion academic achievement, we know that top marks aren’t the only measure of success. Our teaching staff walk alongside students to encourage their development in all areas, including spiritually, emotionally, socially, creatively, physically and cognitively.

Students are central to everything we do, and we deliver a range of subjects, enrichment activities and differentiated teaching methods to empower every child to achieve their very best.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” Colossians 3:23

Safe Learning Environment

Every child is fearfully and wonderfully made by God. That’s why we are committed to providing a community of care where students feel emotionally safe and part of an environment where they can thrive. We engage a dedicated Wellbeing team, composed of representatives throughout the College, who rigorously adhere to government policies, promote awareness and continually improve our approach. Areas addressed include mental health, relationships, special needs and disability.

From Prep to Year 12, every staff member at St Andrews is skilled in wellbeing principles to support your child as they grow. Students can access pastoral care and support from a range of places, including their classroom or homeroom teachers, our dedicated Student Safety Officers, our Chaplain, our Head of Wellbeing, Youth Worker or Student Counsellor.

Like your child’s education, your child’s wellbeing involves every aspect of their development. That means that student wellbeing is always a matter for all St Andrews staff.

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4

Beyond the Classroom

Growth doesn’t just happen in the classroom. Across our Primary and Secondary schools, we offer a range of activities to help your child explore their talents and interests, as well as push themselves in new areas.

Students interested in music can join a range of bands, including worship, jazz, vocal, strings and concert. Or they may consider our Chess Club, which has produced teams who advanced to national championships in past years.

The Sports program at St Andrews has expanded rapidly, now including volleyball, softball, badminton, soccer, cricket, basketball and table tennis.

Whatever their interests, your child can find activities that will boost their self-esteem, build friendship groups, diversify their abilities and ignite passions that can last throughout their lives.

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalm 100:1-2

Community

Our College has a rich history of Christ-centred community, built on mutual care and respect. We extend a warm welcome to all St Andrews families.

Throughout the year, we offer opportunities to foster community between home and school. Our Parents and Friends Association organises community events, fundraising and special projects to help families connect and support our College. Our Alumni Association is also growing, providing channels for students and staff to connect, network and encourage one another.

Education is a partnership between families and teachers - it’s vital to the direction and priorities of our College. We look forward to partnering with you in your child’s learning journey.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another...” Hebrews 10:24-25
