StACC Board Meeting Notes - April 2024
Our devotions tonight focused on 1 Timothy 2:1-4. Here we are instructed to pray for our leaders and we are given a reason to do this - ‘so that we might live quiet and peaceful lives in all godliness and holiness’. As Christian education is facing a difficult time this year, it is good for us to be praying for our leaders so that we may live in this way.
The Principal’s presentation tonight highlighted the concern we should have about the report given to the Federal Government by the Australian Law Reform Commission. This report recommends changes that will have a significant impact on Christian education institutions like St Andrews. There will be a special gathering at Waverley Christian College on May 22 at 6.30pm, and we encourage you to attend. It is a free event, but registration is required. You can do this at https://mychristianschool.au/events/
Don’t forget the Open Day happening on Tuesday April 30 9.30-11.30am. Please take this opportunity to come and see the College in action.
We received minutes from the Finance Sub-Committee and the Risk Management Sub-Committee. The work of these sub-committees is valuable and we thank the members for their extra time commitment.
The following policies were reviewed and approved or another two years and will be reviewed again in April 2026
- Board Policy for OH & S
- Board Responsibilities Statement
The Board are meeting with the Board of Belgrave Heights Christian School on Saturday May 4 2024 for a day of training. It promises to be a good day together.
We have learned that Mr Alan McGavin will be retiring from the Board at the end of 2024. We will say more about Alan’s service on the Board later this year. This means that there is room for a parent of the College to join the Board. This happens through the Annual General Meeting on Thursday May 16. If you would like to know more, or would like to nominate someone, please contact Mr Darren Waterworth through the front office.
Thank you for continuing to pray for the Board and the leadership of the College.
