Board News - June 2024

Each of our meetings begin with a devotion which helps us focus ourselves on the Living God. Tonight Mr Haines pointed us to Psalm 139 and the reminder that in God’s eyes, we are all ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’ and that ‘his works are wonderful’. In all our nuances and quirks, God’s works are wonderful.

The proposed changes to federal legislation regarding some areas of discrimination will, if passed, have a significant impact on education institutions like St Andrews. The Board is considering how to respond in the strongest way, and will communicate to our community as soon as possible.

The official opening of the Administration, Science and Technology Wing will be happening the morning after our meeting. So while much more will be said at that function, we acknowledge all who have been involved in the planning, building and fitting out of the rooms. May all that happens here continue to bring Glory to God.

In our last set of notes in May, we congratulated Walter Gear on being nominated to the Board subject to approval by the relevant committee of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria. Tonight we have heard he has been approved, so we welcome Walter to the Board to commence in 2025.
