Welcoming Our New Staff Members
As we continue to be blessed by the growth in our College, we are excited to welcome thirteen new staff members to our community this year. Each of these talented individuals brings unique skills and experiences that will enrich our learning environment and support our students' growth. We are grateful for God's provision in bringing these dedicated professionals to our team, and we look forward to the positive impact they will have on our college.
Joining our teaching team are:
- Arielle Tan (Secondary Teacher – Maths);
- Bailey Turner (Secondary Teacher – Humanities);
- Caleb Loy (Secondary Teacher – English);
- Sinae Lee (Secondary Teacher – English);
- Lee Luo (Secondary Teacher – Maths/Science); and
- Judith Sully (Primary Teacher – Year 5).
Supporting our students’ learning and wellbeing, we are pleased to welcome Fiona Porter (Learning Support Teacher), Valerie Kuan (Learning Support Assistant), and Melissa Kiernan (Student Counsellor). Additionally, Ye Han Chong joins us as IT Service Desk Assistant, Clarissa Seow as our new Publications & Social Media Coordinator, and Talia Lee and Josephine Kristhianto as Administration Assistants in our front office reception area.
As we welcome these new staff members, we are reminded of 1 Peter 4:10, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."
May this year be one where we continue to grow together, using our gifts to honour God and bless those around us.
Parents and Friends Association Update
The Parents and Friends Association (PFA) has had a wonderful start to the year, welcoming new families and strengthening our school community.
A highlight was the Welcome Picnic, where families gathered to connect and enjoy a relaxed afternoon together. It was a joy to see new friendships forming and to celebrate the sense of belonging that makes St Andrews Christian College so special.
We were also inspired by our Principal and Mission Service Learning Coordinator, Majella, who shared about last year’s mission trips and the exciting new partnership with Transform the Nations. This mission focus reminds us of the bigger picture of faith in action, and we are excited to see how our school community can make an impact in the lives of one of the most vulnerable people groups in Nepal. The PFA is delighted to partner with the school in supporting the work of Transform the Nations.
We are also thrilled to have Icypole Fridays back in full swing! A big thank you to the volunteers who help make this possible—it’s always a hit with the students.
Speaking of volunteers, we are incredibly grateful for those who have given their time to serve in the Uniform Shop and support the school’s Open Day. Your generosity and willingness to help are truly appreciated!
The PFA looks forward to another great year of building community and supporting our school. Thank you for your continued involvement!
Blessings,
Thomas Chong
PFA President
Garden Club
Our Garden Club students have been hard at work tending to the veggie patch, growing fresh produce for our school community. The club is student-run and meets at lunchtime in the veggie patch. In addition to enjoying the rewards of their hard work, they also sell the produce they grow, with all proceeds donated to Tearfund. Staff and students are welcome to purchase our veggies. Parents can send a few dollars with their child if they’d like to buy some fresh produce!
