College Board News – March 18th 2021
Tonight the Board met in person for the first time in 12 months – We were able to celebrate with and thank Catriona for the 10 years of remarkable service she has provided, and continues to provide, to the College as Principal. As a Board we are inspired by her humble and godly leadership. Please congratulate her when you see her.
The Board is currently involved in the review of the College’s Enrolment Policy, Statement of Belief and related documents. As foundational items, it is critical that these documents accurately reflect our doctrines, tenets, beliefs and teachings. Courts and tribunals are increasingly expecting Christian schools to be able to reference comprehensive written statements of belief in order to demonstrate the bona fide nature of those beliefs.
The 2020 Vividus Survey of the College community indicated high levels of satisfaction in the College, particularly in the living out of its Christian Ethos. This has continued to be the trend for the past several years and is much to be thankful for.
2020 was a good financial year for the College. Despite additional expenditure related to implementing Covid-safe plans, the College was blessed to receive additional government stimulus grants and funding in the same year.
The Board continues to investigate possibilities for expanding the College and accommodating more students – it is very pleasing to see such a continued high demand for the authentic Christian education that St Andrews Christian College provides.
