Board News – March 2023

We began early tonight with a shared meal between members of the Board and new staff at St Andrews. It was great to be able to meet together in this way and to introduce ourselves.

We are working through a Christian Schools Association booklet in our devotions and tonight considered “Relationships”. The Board recognises the importance of good relationship between Board members, the Board and the Community, and importantly between the Board and the Principal. A guiding statement is found in 1 Cor 12:12 “Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it.”

We welcome the diversity that is found in the membership of the Board at St Andrews Christian College. Within that diversity, we also find unity – unity of faith and unity of purpose. May God always keep us this way.

Sadly, we have farewelled Rev Dean Carroll from the Board. We thank him for his time and wisdom on the Board.

Thank you to all who completed the survey for the Australian Law Reform Commission. If you would like to continue to be involved, you can go to https://mychristianschool.au

We are pleased that Michael Swanbrough was able to speak to the Board tonight. Michael spoke with the Board about how well the 2022 VCE cohort have done. Many achieved a high ATAR and have gone on to attend University in the course of their choice. These are young adults who are living out the final phrase of our mission – ‘to be a positive Christian influence in the world’.

Our current building project is progressing very well and we hope to be using the building in term 4 this year. Please keep praying for all who are involved in building, for their safety and well-being. It’s a dangerous industry.

The following Board Policies were reviewed and re-affirmed for twelve months

● Board Policy for Communications

● Board Policy for Statement of Belief

Thank you for continuing to pray for the Board.
