St Andrews Board – November 2022

Tonight we were very pleased to welcome two new members to the Board of St Andrews Christian College. Stephanie Thor and Justyna McKenna have joined us and this means we now have a full board of 12 directors. We praise God for these willing servants.

Darren Waterworth led our devotions tonight and reminded us of the need we all have for the Spirit of God to fill us. “Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me”.

Acting Principal Nick Haines informed the board that Janita Bratton is to be the Head of Teaching and Learning – Primary. Janita comes with extensive leadership experience in Christian Education. We look forward to having her involved in sharing God’s Big Story at St Andrews.

The Board are pleased to support the chosen theme for 2023 – Unity Through Christ

Romans 15:5-6 gives good guidance on this theme, praying that God will give us the attitude of Jesus Christ and that in unity we will glorify God.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Having heard that Staff are very pleased about the Christ-centred purpose of the College and the sense of community people feel, we are confident this theme will be a great help.

Tim Farmilo has indicated his willingness to stay on for term one in 2023. Tim’s love for Jesus and for St Andrews continues to be an inspiration and encouragement to the whole community.

Tonight is budget night for the Board. The proposed budget was reviewed during the month by the Finance Sub-Committee. Their recommendation is that the budget be approved by this Board. Our Business Manager presented the budget and explained to the full board some of what impacts the budget. Insurance premiums particularly stand out.

The following motion was moved and resolved –

  • The Board endorses the Budget 2023 as presented, including the associated tuition fee increases

We thank Darren Waterworth and all who have helped in the preparation of this budget.

The Board have received a letter from Yvonne Hughes and, with sadness, acknowledge her resignation from St Andrews Christian College. While we are sad to see her leave, we pray God’s blessing on her and her family.

This is our final meeting for 2022. May God bless you all as you celebrate the birth and life of our Lord Jesus Christ. See you next year.
