St Andrews Christian College Board – August 2018 Meeting
Our meeting tonight began with reading the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20, and being reminded that these aren’t just rules to follow but more a description of how the community of God lives together. This helps to describe a shalom community.
We were pleased to have our head of teaching and learning, Mr Merrick Brewer, speak to the Board tonight. The Board is committed to ensuring St Andrews continues to be a Christ Centred College, so we are greatly encouraged to hear how this is continually being built into the learning environment at St Andrews.
The Principal’s report reminded us of the great importance of solid relationships in all areas of our college community. These good relationships are known to be a have a very positive impact on all aspects of education. We were also pleased to hear that one of our Board members, Andrew Courtis, is presenting a gospel course with some parents of the college. We pray that Jesus will make himself known through this.
The end of August marks the end of an era when St Andrews finally leaves Rembrandts. The college has been greatly blessed since we moved to this site to be able to use this building, and we are grateful for that. The new building which has been opened we trust will be a great blessing to the College.
The following policies have been approved for another 12 months.
- Risk Management
- Delegation of Authority
- Board Positions
- Conflict of Interests. Board members have reviewed the Conflict of Interests Register and confirmed that it is current.
Mrs Wansbrough will be on sabbatical from Sept 5 – October 27. We trust that she will find good rest over this time. We are pleased to support Mr Tim Farmilo as leads the college over this time.
